Splish Splash Let's Take A Bath

The day my baby girls umbilical cord fell off was bittersweet. The symbol that reminded me of her time being inside of me and all to myself. But, no doubt about it, I would rather have her here in my arms than in my stomach ever again.

On the other hand, I have been so excited to give Nylah her first bath. I've realized that there are going to be so many first in her life, and many of those experiences I get to enjoy with her and thats such a cool feeling. Going through life again through my daughters eyes and I'm ready to take it all in.

Nylah's first bath was a success. She didn't know what to do at first and looked around with those big blue eyes. After a couple seconds though she relaxed and enjoyed the water. I have heard that bathing your baby calms them down. This will definitely be my technique*

The final countdown...

What a crazy week! We have had all the types of emotions you could possibly think of these last couple of days. The worst part was not knowing what was going to happen. After waiting to hear from the Doctor all week we found out that they are going to induce me on Monday morning. So, we are going to be parents to a precious girl next week. How incredible! My 9 months are coming to an end and I don't think I'm quite ready yet, now that I know its going to happen so soon.
All I want to do is hold her,  snuggle with her, and tell her how much I love her.
I will tell her "how sorry I am that my body wasn't able to take care of you inside of me anymore, but you coming earlier means that this journey can start now and that you can reach your full potential with me being by your side and that I will always be here for you taking care of you!" Clark and I are going to enjoy these next couple of days together getting ready for her arrival and I'm so excited to have some of our family come out to visit.

There's going to be a lot going on in the nest couple of days and I just wanted to thank everyone that has given up some of their time by either sending a special something all the way to hawaii, or just being apart of our lives and thinking about us. We really are blessed to have you in our life!

The Book

I haven't made time to sit down and make my new years resolutions list yet, but I definitaley decided that on the top of my list this year will be making crafty things (basteln like they say in german) for our house and especially for our new baby girl. I still have some free time so I better get on with it so I can be ready for the little miss.

SO, since I made a big deal about making stuff my adorable hubby got me this amazing book today! Fist up will be something I'm going to try and make for our new niece arriving in February. Only a few weeks before our little one makes her big entrance. They will be besties!
I have a good feeling about this year.
Let the fun begin!!

A Christmas Story.

A Christmas Story.

It's been a wonderful Christmas weekend at our house. Probably the most laid back and relaxing holiday I have ever had (or will have in the future since little miss will be here next year). Clark and I decided to spend Christmas Eve alone with just the two of us.
The day started with a skype date with my family. Great way to start the day!! After getting our fix with the lack of our family not being here we said our good-byes and went grocery shopping. Let me just say that the spirit of Aloha was everywhere to be found. Although there were more people in the stores than ever before the crowed didn't cease to disappoint with their good mood. This helped make our shopping trip quite successful.
I've been wanting to cook something different and special of Christmas Eve and found our duck at a incredible deal. Having never cooked anything this complicated before I didn't realize it would take about 4 hrs to complete. So, since we had to wait a while we decided to go to the movies. Once we got out of the movies I was pretty excited to go home and get ready for the candlelight service at Hope Church here in Kaneohe. Its been sort of a tradition my family has been doing since we are all older. The service was beautiful and I loved being outside surrounded by all the festive lights.

mangoes, crispy duck & roasted potatoes, green bean casserole, gravy

Luckily, the food turned out great! Lots of fresh fruit was included.
The night ended with us just sitting outside on our porch talking about our families + the precious gift we will be receiving in a few months. It will be the best gift period. This weekend we celebrated baby jesus birthday and can only imagine how amazing it will be celebrating our own baby's birthday!!

Warm & Fuzzy

Sunday was the first advent! Christmas has now officially started its countdown. Yay!
They had a beautiful youth choir service at church that night. Such a great way to kick off the season. It also made me think of our baby girl standing up there with her friends in a couple of years. It makes everything so much more meaningful now...

The weather has also started to cool down a little bit and I hear the rainy season is headed our way. I'm excited about this tho. It will help with the Christmas mood throughout the month.
I also have been craving some HOT CHOCOLATE. Who would have guessed that I would want hot coco in Hawaii?!! Strange I know...
Well yesterday we were driving all around trying to find me some and it was seriously impossible to find any. Well, when we finally tried the McDonald's today they were out of milk. With a heavy heart I asked Mr. Santa Clause to please grant me one wish early and help us find some hot coco. (By the way isn't he adorable?)
Luckily, we found some tonight at the 7 Eleven. It was the best cup of hot coco I could ever imagine. Made me again realize how special this time of year is. There are things that you just can't eliminate with the holidays... Like a cup of hot coco to make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Time to bust out the Christmas Music! Jack Johnson's new song "In the Morning" is amazing. Perfect for  editing pictures from this weekend.

We are doing a video and taking christmas pictures for my friend Beth Anne. They moved out to hawaii, since Geoff is in the Air Force, a couple of months before we moved out here. I am so happy they are here. Beth Anne and I met in college and I love her little family! It's a treat getting to hang out with her now since we both have babies. I would have never imagined us being here only a few years later.
See a 'sneak peak' from their photo shoot.

Most favorite time of the year...

I have heard nightmares about black friday since I moved to the United States, and have always been curious to go myself. I figured this would be a great year to go look and see what I can find, since we moved here less than 2 months ago. Clark accompanied me and we had a blast! We didn't even have to wake up at the crack of dawn. I guess it was meant to be. All I really wanted was a small christmas tree, and I found some cute baby clothes.
This baby better hurry up because I can't wait to put her in that swimsuit and play with her in the water.

Later that night, after watching a movie, we decided to write down our christmas wish list (with some sparkling grape juice), and have the other person read them. This was so much fun. Wished we did this last year already. Would have made shopping a lot easier...

The best part of today was stargazing with my love. This was so special, since we only have a couple of months together before our little family of 2 becomes 3. We are for sure going to be doing this more often...
enjoy the video...

Chemical Reaction...

Let us introduce to you for the first time... Little Miss Hilton.
We are going to have a little baby girl!!! She is adorable and we couldn't be happier to meet her in April...

Today was one of the best days in my life!! It's been quite an ordeal trying to schedule an appointment with a doctor since we moved from the mainland to hawaii. Anyways, it was so worth the challenge finding a doctor that could do the ultrasound after we got to meet our baby girl. Her daddy was holding my hard during the experience, and every time she moved around he would squeeze my hand from being so excited. This was so cute!

She was moving around so much that we couldn't get a good shot of her little face, but she did wave her hands at us. That was my favorite part! I'm sure she's been ready for us to meet her, and I can't wait to wrap her in our arms and tell her how much I love her... Now that Clark and I have had the opportunity to meet our little girl the planning can begin. Hurrah...

LOVINGLY SUSPENSE...

Our baby is 18.5 weeks old. The size of a sweet potato. This really is a sweet moment for us since we should be finding out what little bean will be. I'm starting to feel our baby move around. Probably because little bean is ready for us to call him or her by name...

Hawaii Luau Party!!

My big sister Marle' and my mom threw Clark and I a farewell party before we moved out to Hawaii. It meant so much to us see and spend time with the people we cared most about. We really are going to miss our family and friends. Clark and I both have been incredibly blessed to have the people in our lives  who have helped to shape us into the people we are now and we THANK every single one of you!!!

Uzi Wiggins (who also designed and made our wedding cake) created this tropical theme coconut delight. It was super cute and tasted even better!!! My favorite part was the baby flip-flops. Thank you Uzi for being apart of another journey in our life.

Marle' should really be an event planner. She come up with tons of fun games and we even had a photo booth set up where we can poke our face into a hole of two surfer dudes.

I could't believe that my brother Leander flew all the way from Germany to come say goodbye to us. Since Hawaii is in the middle of nowhere and I probably won't get to see him for a long time it was the most amazing surprise I have ever received. See how lucky I am??

Pics include my mom and mother in law. Best friend Anna (Penner#1). My siblings <3

Also played some serious American Football.

Even tho it was sad saying goodbye this day was a total BLAST - it sure is one we will never forget!!!

A video of this event will be posted soon. Be sure to come back to check it out...
