Local Tourists...

Fun day in Waikiki. We decided to take a trip and be tourist for a day, which is fitting since we have only been here for 3 weeks. We stopped by a couple of the resorts located in the area in order to promote our video services. We think it was successful. Below are some pictures we took while exploring the resorts, which are beautiful by the way.

While our adventures in tourist land were unfolding, Monique caught hold of a luring smell. The smell was defiantly food, but we were not sure were it was coming from. So, we literally followed the smell to a small Greek restaurant named The Fat Greek (poor guy). Ok, we have had some really good Greek food before, but this takes the cake (no pun intended). The food was AMAZING! After having our perfectly portioned meal, we got up and noticed an award on the wall. Not to our surprise, the awarded was for having the best Greek food on the island. So, we guess we aren't the only ones who think that place was swell.

Bungalow & Food for Two...

We had a successful day in Honolulu and ended it with treats from a small bakery that reminded me of Europe (except it was owned by a cute little Asian lady that didn't speak any English).

We stocked up on yummy goodies that consisted of fresh homemade bread, 2 custard pastries (one with cherries & one without), ham & cheese croissant and cinnamon twirls that we gave to our cousins Dan and Heidi. I have not been able to eat something this good and keep it down for over 3 months, so you could imagine how excited I was.

A long day of running errands and client/job meetings, things are starting to come together. Below is a picture of our sweet Bungalow. It's a super small studio, but it has everything we need. While shopping at Goodwill I found some Disney DVD's that we decided to collect for lil Bean :)
We watched The Jungle Book that night while eating our first meal. Nice way to compare our life right now. Home, sweet home. Depicted also is our new (old man) car, Turtle

Crush The Turtle...

Lani's is where these giant majestic turtles spend their day sunbathing. They keep this part of the beach protected to make sure the turtles don't get disturbed. These surfer dudes weren't camera shy at all and I couldn't help taking tons of pictures of them. Reminded me of Finding Nemo...

There are three species of sea turtles native to the Hawaiian Islands: the Green, the Hawksbill, and the Leatherback. These fascinating creatures have played important roles in the environment and culture of Hawaii's people. Of the three native sea turtles, the Green Turtle (Honu) is the most common.

Our day up to the North Shore continued with a rainbow sighting and Shaved Ice. Craving these things since (perfect combo: lychee, mango, pina colada topped off with condense milk)

This is the view in front of our house. Kaneohe Bay. The water is nice and calm right here which is great for paddle-boarding, spear fishing and snorkeling. It does rain here at least twice a day. That's ok with me tho because there is always a rainbow near by.

Blessed...

I think I'm going to start writing a lot more about food in general or what we consumed each day, since I finally am starting to feel somewhat normal again for the most part. Being pregnant so far has been quite a challenge these last couple of weeks (months) . Thank you to everyone that has been there taking care of us. I know I could't have done it without your help!

It didn't help that we moved during this time as well, but I still wouldn't trade places with anyone if I could. Knowing there is something so special inside me is an experience I can't describe in words (serious miracle). Although its hard right now it will be so worth it and I know little bean is already loved tremendously!!! Our lives have already been changed in a big way and I know that none of this would have ever happened without the Lords help and blessings.

Talking to my fellow Peachtree City, GA pregnant friend Amy (Plauche) Stone, who is living in hawaii as well made me appreciate this period of time even more. Having morning sickness, cravings and other insanely weird stuff happen makes you understand what your little baby might be going through when it gets here... Glad Amy is here and I love getting to talk about baby stuff to her. Still can't believe how many of my friends are pregnant and moving on with their lives. What an exciting time.

baby bump (16 weeks)

This is the fruit stand where we get cheap, ripe, fresh, juicy fruit at least once a week. The lady at the end cuts the coconut for you right there after drinking the milk. It's so good!!!

Hawaii Luau Party!!

My big sister Marle' and my mom threw Clark and I a farewell party before we moved out to Hawaii. It meant so much to us see and spend time with the people we cared most about. We really are going to miss our family and friends. Clark and I both have been incredibly blessed to have the people in our lives  who have helped to shape us into the people we are now and we THANK every single one of you!!!

Uzi Wiggins (who also designed and made our wedding cake) created this tropical theme coconut delight. It was super cute and tasted even better!!! My favorite part was the baby flip-flops. Thank you Uzi for being apart of another journey in our life.

Marle' should really be an event planner. She come up with tons of fun games and we even had a photo booth set up where we can poke our face into a hole of two surfer dudes.

I could't believe that my brother Leander flew all the way from Germany to come say goodbye to us. Since Hawaii is in the middle of nowhere and I probably won't get to see him for a long time it was the most amazing surprise I have ever received. See how lucky I am??

Pics include my mom and mother in law. Best friend Anna (Penner#1). My siblings <3

Also played some serious American Football.

Even tho it was sad saying goodbye this day was a total BLAST - it sure is one we will never forget!!!

A video of this event will be posted soon. Be sure to come back to check it out...
