Feels like Home...

So many things reminded me of South Africa this weekend. We enjoyed dinner at 10 Degrees South which was incredible. It reminded me so much of SA.

10 Degrees South is the only restaurant of it's kind in the USA,
specializing in South African cuisine. South African cuisine is a fusion of
French, Portuguese, Dutch, German & Malaysian cuisines with strong
Mediterranean influences.

The only other place I can get authentic SA food is of course at my parents home. They still make the best food I have ever tasted! Luckily, fathers day was sunday so we got to eat traditional SA food twice in a row. We enjoyed spending the day with my dad and catching up with some family members on the phone. It's difficult to keep up if all the family on the other side of the world (so we take extra advantage on special occasions to catch up on everyone). I am very grateful to have a father that cares so much for his family. He's always understanding and supportive. Thank you for providing and working so hard for your family. I love you! I know that Clark will be a wonderful father just like you one day...

You Raise Me Up...

This post is totally dedicated to my wonderful mamma!
For mothers day we got our mom some Josh Groban tickets. The night finally came! We got dressed up and left our husbands at home. It was such a fun girls night out. What girl doesn't like to get serenaded by a man...

One of my favorite performances ever!
Here is some of the lyrics to "You Raise Me Up"
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

I know you are always there for me mom, and supported me in everything I do. THANK YOU + WE LOVE YOU <3

I will never forget those….endless summer days

Clark-o and I had the perfect relaxed weekend. It was so nice not having something planned and getting to do whatever we choose to do at that moment.

Friday, Clark was super sweet and surprised me with a date night. It was my choice and I got to pick whatever I wanted to do. We've been traveling a lot on the weekends so I just wanted to have a regular dinner + movie night.
Our dear friends Matt + KayLa gave us a gift card and movie tickets. We took their engagement pics on easter and they were so sweet enough to give us gift cards in return :)
THANK YOU for making this night possible... We ended up going to Chili's for dinner and saw the new flick Super 8* which was a really good movie. I would recommend it if you like suspense + action.

We slept in on saturday and decided we need to start getting in shape. It's true what they say about gaining wait when you get married. It just happens! It was a tough workout class, but a good start. I really hope we keep this up bc I felt really accomplished. After that we were planning to go downtown to an arts + craft festival at Atlantic Station, but the rain made other plans. Lunch at Fresh2O was the next idea since we were starving from our workout.
Clark and I love going to the apple store on days like these. It was time for an update and we decided to make an investment in a new macbook pro. We seriously needed a computer that can keep up with our graphics + videos.

That night Clark had to work on some of his videos so we went home watched all the X-Men movies. I wanted to watch all of them before watching the new one. I'm a big comic book fan and am always excited when they come out with action pack entertainment.

My favorite day of the week is sunday. We enjoyed church and afterwards met with our friends
Michael + Aubrey + Katie Chevrier ( We missed you Joe ). We grilled some food and had a wonderful picnic!

Sweet Beginnings...

What a great way to start the summer with our good friends Maxine and Zach's wedding at Carillon Beach in Florida.

Here's the highlight video that my awesome hubby put together for the happy couple. It was a beautiful, fun spirited wedding and it truly was the perfect setting for our friends. We were so excited to spend their special day with them!

Thank you guys for having your wedding at such a great location! Since we were already at the beach we made it into a little vacation. The lovely Beth Wall and Jenna Kimble accompanied  us on this road trip.
I LOVED being around my old roommates again and we all had a blast!!

M+Z reception was very cool and relaxed. Everyone gathered at a local restaurant where we got to sign their guestbook (check out the surfboard below).

Here are some couple shots. Welcome to the married club Maxine + Zach!

The newlyweds...
After the wedding festivities we still had half the day to play with our friends in the sun :)

Weekend Getaway

April has been a very busy month for us and this blog post is really old news, but I still wanted to share our lil' adventure we took :)

My sweet husband took me to Orlando for a weekend getaway. It was very special to go back to where we got married only a few months ago. It was a long drive, but definitely worth it. THANK YOU to our family down there for spending these days with us. We had such a good time and can't wait to go back.

We LOVED Harry Potter's Dragon roller coaster and I was very impressed with the designs of the houses. And this is coming from a non-Harry Potter fan. The magic wands are their biggest seller for sure.

On our way home we stopped by the Orlando Temple. Such a beautiful building and good memories from the happiest day of my life!

Ellen was there too.
